The HR Specialist serves as a liaison and advisor to warehouse leaders on HR matters, including employee relations, benefits, and leave administration. They handle day-to-day problem-solving for employees and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Responsibilities also include maintaining HRIS/Payroll systems, facilitating warehouse onboarding and training, and assisting with special projects as needed. This position reports to the Chief People Officer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Function as HR liaison and advisor to assigned departments regarding HR-related issues encompassing employee relations, investigations, benefits and leave administration.
- Act as a direct HR contact to employees regarding day-to-day problem-solving and answering questions regarding benefits coverage and leave.
- Aid and support in activities related to compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, and laws and certifications.
- Maintain and update HRIS/Payroll system to record employee changes and ensure data accuracy & reporting.
- Actively administer warehouse onboarding and training.
- Assist department leadership with HR special projects as assigned.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
Physical Demands:
The employee will regularly be sitting and working at a computer.
Qualifications needed to perform this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources & two years of experience in human resources or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment and Paylocity HRIS is highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in leave administration is highly preferred.
- Continuous learning engagement activities which can include HR Certification from HRCI or SHRM or similar opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; skilled in interpersonal communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and time management; exceptional organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, working a varying schedule to support the needs of the business.
