The Role

The Human Resources Manager works with Human Resources and Operations employees to carry out the daily activities of the Human Resource Office. They are focused on delivering Human Resources services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging Human Resources leader who sees HR as their calling and is passionate about their growth in this function.

As a member of the Human Resources organization, this person contributes a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for a designated property.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior HR leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. Provide insights and recommendations on workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.
  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and selection. Collaborate with senior HR leadership to develop and implement strategies to attract top talent, ensuring a diverse and inclusive hiring process.
  • Employee Relations: Help to foster positive employee relations through effective communication, counseling, and mediation. Serve as the initial point of contact for employee complaints, grievances, or concerns. Promptly respond to reports of misconduct, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other alleged policy violations. Document all relevant information, including the nature of the complaint, parties involved, and timeline of events.
  • Performance Management: Implement performance management systems to effectively evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and identify development opportunities. Coordinate employee training and development initiatives to enhance skills and competencies.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring effective delivery of content and engagement of participants. Monitor and evaluate training sessions for quality and effectiveness, soliciting feedback from participants to continuously improve training programs.
  • Compliance and Legal: Ensure the department remains current with employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements. Develop and update HR policies and procedures to mitigate risk and maintain legal compliance.
  • HR Administration: Oversee the HR administration tasks being handled by the HR Generalist, (including payroll processing, personnel record maintenance, and HRIS management). Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of employee data and records.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture: Work with senior HR leadership to develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and company culture. Oversee the employee engagement initiatives to include organizing team-building activities, recognition programs, and events to foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
  • Background in employment, employee relations, employee training, and government regulations and policies as they impact HR is preferred.
  • Previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred.
  • Service oriented with professional presentation skills.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as social media platforms. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,100.00 - $87,000.00 per year
