Job Summary The HR Manager facilitates the efficient management and administration of the Human Resources function to include all facets of human resources (payroll, recruiting, training, benefit administration, and the execution of team member relation practices). This position is important to the general public as well as the employees of the company. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance. Strong organization skills are a must. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following – other duties as assigned • Lead the Human Resources Team with 2 direct reports and oversee all human resources functions and activities in the company including benefits, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, open enrollments, etc. • Serve on senior leadership team as an organizational advisor that influences senior leaders on significant matters • Project planning and implementation of various HR strategic initiatives that impact all levels of management and employees • Coach managers on supervisory skills to increase communications, clarify expectations and improve performance • Recommends and implements recruiting, hiring and retention strategies for company. • Responsible for Talent Development, Career Path Development and Succession Planning • Position description creation and compensation analysis. • Responsible for all employee relations issues • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws concerning human resources (i.e., Federal and State Minimum Wage Laws, Affirmative Action, Immigration Reform Control Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Act etc.). • Responsible for in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. • Responsible for building, updating, and maintaining Kronos UKG - HRIS and training employees on system changes. • Responsible for biweekly payroll processing, quarterly audits, end of year close out and W-2 processing and reporting. • Negotiate all employee benefits, conduct open enrollment, process enrollments and terminations, run and submit annual ACA reporting and conduct bi-annual 401k eligibility audits and offerings. • Submits worker comp claims, conduct annual report and injury analysis & provide safety training based on assessment. • Coordinate the enrollment/disenrollment in health, dental & life insurance plans to all qualified employees. (From enrollment to termination and Cobra), know cost for company and employee • Facilitate employee recognition programs. • Collaborate and support other departments as needed • Oversee employee housing • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned Education & Experience • Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures required • Experience with UKG Kronos, a plus • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Advanced in Excel • 5+ years in Human Resources in a generalist role • 2+ years in Leadership Role • Payroll experience preferred Skills To effectively perform the duties of a Human Resource Managers, individuals must be able to demonstrate several competencies that are essential to the position, which include: • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization. • High level of organizational and learning agility. • Effective interpersonal and analytical skills. • Ability to coach employees and management through complex issues and make recommendations that are consistent with policies, procedures, and regulatory law. • Sense of urgency and ability to set and manage priorities. • Ability to maintain composure during emergency situations. Working Conditions • The work environment for this position is generally an indoor controlled environment. Noise level is moderate; expect noises like office machines and light traffic. • May be requested to work overtime and weekends during the company’s in-season time period. • May be requested to drive company vehicle to other locations. Physical Requirements About 1/3 of one's time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. One-third to two-thirds of one's time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. About 2/3 of one's time will be spent using one's hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talking or hearing. Expect to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis. Vision required: close, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Some other physical demands come from continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor work, events work, and mail order work.
