POSITION DETAILS:


The Human Resources Generalist works 52 weeks per year, 8 hours per day, 7:30am - 4:00pm.


SALARY:


$49,192

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees' children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate.

This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana, which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan will allow employees to save for their retirement by making a pre-tax salary deferral contribution to the Plan.

Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with corporation staff members, general public, public agencies, and other school corporations regarding personnel issues.
  • Compile and maintain accurate data for required records and reports.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of benefit information uploaded to the district internet and employee intranet websites.
  • Coordinate with the payroll department to process and coordinate all employee leaves and absences, including those relating to workers’ compensation claims.
  • Responsible for collecting and compiling sensitive and confidential employee information and preparing reports.
  • Provide information to all levels of employees regarding personnel policies and procedures in addition to furnishing information to authorized agencies and/or representatives.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Familiar with all other areas of the EVSC Human Resources department and provides assistance as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school degree or GED equivalent required. Office experience required. Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite as well as Google products. Bachelor's Degree and/or over two years’ experience in a professional Human Resource role preferred. Experience with maintaining and processing employee leaves preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

PHR, GPHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, OR SHRM-SCP, preferred


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, school board members, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to prepare, project, monitor and document funds from multiple sources.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
