SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR staff and Management in supporting all of Gibbs Interwire. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, talent management, onboarding, policy implementation, talent acquisition/staffing, records management, benefits administration, training and development, compensation, performance management, and employment law compliance. The successful HR Generalist will act as an employee champion. The HR Generalist will help assess and anticipate HR-related needs, make recommendations, and assist in implementation of programs and initiatives. Communicates needs proactively with our Management Team, the HR Generalist seeks to develop and implement integrated and successful solutions. The HR Generalist effectively partners with the Management Team to deliver value-added services to employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct division-based recruitment and employment activities, including but not limited to, applicant recruitment, identification, evaluation, interview, and referral.
- Administer various Human Resources plans and procedures for all company personnel, provide guidance and interpretation; assist in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures; maintain employee handbook and policies; maintain and assist with job descriptions.
- Develop Human Resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information; then recommend and implement courses of action. Prepare reports for the company-wide quarterly bonus program and wage review processes
- Administer employee training and development programs, including, providing HR on-boarding, and assisting in training to all levels of employees as needed and making recommendations and updates as needed.
- Perform benefits administration to include open enrollment, communicating benefit information to employees, and manage programs such as the scholarship program and anniversary award program.
- Maintain and file records, reports, and logs to conform to with compliance regulations. Will lead a project to convert employee files to electronic records
- Work closely with management and employees to promote strong work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Will help plan and coordinate employee engagement events across the company divisions
- Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and programs for continuous improvements in efficiencies of the department and organization.
- Prepare the annual Form 5500 filling for the Welfare Benefit Plan and complete ACA employer reporting
- Work closely with colleagues processing payroll to communicate bi-weekly payroll updates
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of HR Generalist experience
- 1-2 years of recruitment experience
- 2-3 years of employee relations
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Support overall effectiveness of the business by modeling behaviors consistent with company culture and values
- Willingness to travel to other Gibbs Interwire locations, quarterly, 10% travel.
- Professional in Human Resource (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) certification preferred
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive, and motivated attitude to work
- HRM, Talent Management Software and/or payroll experience is a plus
- Multi-site Manufacturing background is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and skills in database management and record keeping
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- Practice of a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent organizational & superior customer service skills
