Human Resources Generalist Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

For almost 2 decades, ISWS has focused on enhancing the mental health and emotional well-being of our clients. ISWS specializes in the treatment of older adults, caregivers, and the disable. Mental health counseling services are provided to those who are home-bound, in adult homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes across New York state.

  • Maintains responsibility for agency compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel/HR matters
  • Communicates changes in agency personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is adhered to
  • Maintains employee records inclusive of training, evaluations, health forms (COVID compliance), I-9 and other required entities
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures agency’s compliance
  • Conducts payroll review of the office staff, aide, and counselor’s payroll
  • Maintains certain aspects of the New Hire process/paperwork for counselors and employees (i.e., contracts)
  • Participates in committees as assigned, such as Home Care Team and Cybersecurity and is the designated HIPPA Privacy Officer for the company
  • Assists in Notary Public needs for the company
  • Responsible for 401K Uploads and bi-weekly accuracy of employee’s allocated funds.
  • Review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the agency’s policies, procedures, and practices on HR/personnel matters
  • Assists management in annual performance review and the maintenance of all staff required trainings (i.e., Sexual Harassment, HIPAA etc.)
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel/HR/Disciplinary matters.
  • ADP review of all hired/terminated staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in the HR field
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and a team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
