SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource Department including administering payroll, hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position manages the generation of all special reporting, studies and analysis performed for the division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compiles payroll data such as address changes, garnishments, vacation/sick time and 401(k), life insurance and FSA deductions for a bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Maintain and monitor ADP software and clock functioning. Troubleshoot when errors occur on the clocks and in the time clock system.
  • Review ADP time keep system on a weekly basis for accuracy and compliance. Contact various department Supervisors for any missed times.
  • Initiate disability claims forms and payment arrangements through the third-party carrier for both short-term and long-term disability. Follow up on with Doctor's notes and email the manager with an extension or return date.
  • Maintain electronic files for payroll records and employee information.
  • Manage filing of all employee records.
  • Interface with all employees to ensure questions are answered promptly.
  • Audit records for payroll reports and send them to the appropriate party (401k, child support, garnishments, credit unions, etc.)
  • Manage the reporting of all vacation accruals to accounting on a monthly basis.
  • Report 401(k) deductions per pay period to Voya directly.
  • Respond to all employment verifications on a timely basis.
  • Collaborates with and advise human resources staff on EEO, affirmative action and diversity.
  • Drafts and oversees an affirmative action plan for the organization; works with a firm to establish affirmative action goals, monitors progress and collaborates with management to achieve these goals.
  • Develops and implements reporting and audit procedures to assess the effectiveness of the organizations EEO and affirmative action plan.
  • Prepares and submits annual EEO-1 reports to corporate.

16. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

17. Track and compile the data for the Affirmative Action Plan.

  • Provide man hours for OSHA and special reports as needed.

19. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

20. Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

21. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.

22. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

23. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

24. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

25. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

· A minimum of three to five years of experience in payroll administration with knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.

· At least one year of human resources management experience preferred.

· Experience designing and implementing an affirmation action plan required.

· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus.

· Must possess general accounting principles.
