The Human Resources Coordinator contributes to the effective delivery of Human Resource Services across the organization through coordination of HR programs and policies, budget activities, audit and compliance reporting, HR KPI tracking, maintaining accurate employee records, general HR support, and providing timely delivery of HR services.
The coordinator will provide basic HR Generalist support with primary responsibilities in the area of HRIS data management, data reporting for annual processes and data distribution. In addition, the coordinator will provide administrative support in the areas of Immigration, Compliance, Recruitment, Onboarding, Compensation and Budget.
Responsible for coordinating and meeting operational objectives and targets of strategic HR Programs as outlined by HR Leadership in the areas of:
HRIS Data Management/Management of Change
- Ensures accuracy of data in the HRIS System, seeks process improvements in system maintenance and works with the HRIS Analyst to implement and test changes.
- Ensures employee records are accurately maintained; on file, in the HRIS system and within the internal HR Systems.
- Coordinates and prepares employee change documents as required ensuring timely and accurate recording of employee change transactions in the HRIS system.
- Maintains Time-off and Absence module in the HRIS System, including time-off plans, manual adjustments associated with employee changes and program modifications when required.
- Conducts annual testing of assigned modules in HRIS system.
Benefits Administration
- Provides support to the HR Advisor with benefits administration/changes and leave processes (including FMLA, Disability, Leave of Absence).
- Provides support to administrators with changes and communications related to Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) and 401(k) programs.
- Assists with planning and coordinating annual benefits meetings and distribution of materials.
- Assists with plan changes during open enrollment and ensures all updates are made in the HRIS System.
- Assists with the coordination of EAP services and employee awareness.
Recruiting
- Participate in recruitment processes and provide HR support to hiring managers.
- Conduct compensation analysis on potential new hires and make recommendations.
Compensation Planning
- Assists in planning, preparation, and submission of annual compensation data survey requests.
- Provides support in the organization and preparation of official communications.
Budgeting
- Participates and contributes to the annual budget process, providing accurate budget estimates for relevant program initiatives.
- Supports the review of monthly budget details to ensure accuracy of cost coding, confirm findings with HR Leadership and provide feedback on budget changes to be reforecasting.
Compliance Reporting
- Assists with report preparation and data consolidation for annual compliance reporting activities.
- Supports audit processes with data collection and organization.
HR Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Tracks HR KPI’s and prepare KPI communications for review and validation by HR Leadership.
- Maintains headcount, vacancy, and staffing change details.
- Maintains Organizational Charts and distributes to key stakeholders.
Payroll Support:
- Supports consolidation of information on assignees-related costs for fringe benefit reporting.
- Provides payroll support as required.
- Tracks, monitors, and advances immigration processes as required.
- Coordinates and monitors relocation activities to ensure alignment with relocation provisions.
- Provides immigration support to global assignees.
- Maintains current knowledge of USA Human Resources legislation, practices and trends.
- Assists with all internal and external HR related matters.
- Supports and participates in workforce planning initiatives.
- Participates in developing and maintaining organizational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Supports the University recruiting process including Graduate in Training (GiT) and Intern Program.
- Contributes effectively to onboarding and out-processing activities to ensure seamless transitions and well documented processes.
- Reinforce Methanex’s culture and values through customer service and employee interface.
- Seeks opportunities to drive forward continuous improvement and operational excellence in the area of Human Resources.
- Support HR related projects as required.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

- Contribute to the ‘operational excellence’ for Methanex USA as an effective member of the Human Resources Department.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred or equivalent related work experience.
- Knowledge of current HR and employment law, including relevant legislation and regulations.
- 2+ years relevant work experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite application (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel) knowledge is required.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organization and planning skills are a must.
- Strong drive for results and action oriented, self-starter.
