Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Human Resource Business Partner to join our team. This position reports to the Vice President, Human Resources, and supervises one Human Resources Administrator.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • First point of contact for HR consulting and guidance throughout the organization.
  • With support of the Vice President, Human Resources, develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy including due diligence, project management, implementation, change management, communication and roll-out.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment and selection process including workforce planning, approvals, posting jobs, screening, interviewing, background screening, and offers.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Execute HR strategies programs & policies that align with organizational goals and ensure consistent and fair application throughout the company.
  • Provide timely and accurate service in the preparation of HR documentation such as contract offers, disciplinary, terminations letters
  • Build strong business relationships with HR team as well as operational management to support business objectives with respect to recruiting, onboarding and employee relations
  • Interpret policy and applicable employment legislation as needed
  • Liaise with Payroll on administration of payroll records including new hire and termination administration
  • Advises managers and supervisors on best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Develops further training as needed.
  • Supports HR 401k & payroll audit processes
  • Provide recruitment support to managers; ensuring workforce needs are met.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Maintains knowledge of and provides employees general information on group benefit programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, statutory holidays, vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence and any other critical information
  • Advises on benefits inquiries and facilitates annual open enrollment process for the U.S.
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, policies and regulations.
  • Provide change management support in relation to business transformation
  • Maintain HR documentation such as HR templates & forms
  • Perform administration and other duties outside their scope of work as assigned and required

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in HR, Business or related discipline
  • SHRM designation an asset or working towards designation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR with Business Partner, HR and/or generalist functions
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail
  • Practical knowledge of operations, company policies and government regulations
  • Exceptional prioritization & organizational skills with an ability to work independently in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Exceptional Microsoft office and computer application skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred but not required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with HR matters
