Position Summary
The HR Assistant provides customer service to associates, applicants and other visitors regarding all aspects of Human Resources. Answers multi-line phone, directs and triages incoming calls and assists callers as appropriate. Coordinates the new employee on-boarding and credentialing process for travel agency staffing.
Core Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for day to day operations of the Human Resources department front desk.
- Acts as a resource to associates/applicants and others by contacting the Human Resources Department, in person or via telephone.
- Handles basic queries from associates and visitors. Provides information or directs to others in the department for resolution.
- Periodic auditing of existing reports and managing the inventory of all reports.
- Provides customer service to all incoming associates, applicants and other visitors.
- Answers telephones, redirects telephone calls, and takes messages.
- Greets job applicants and provides information
- Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Implements onboarding plans tailored to different roles within the company.
- Collect and process employment-related paperwork.
- Serve as a point of contact for new employees to schedule appointments, answering questions and providing guidance throughout the onboarding process.
- Manages onboarding documentation and completion of required screenings such as background checks, drug screenings, and employment/reference checks. Notifies Director when adverse results are obtained.
- Liaise with the HR Data Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate processing of new hire information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree of equivalent work experience preferred
- 3 years of Human Resources experience preferred
- Strong Computer Skills
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Working knowledge of MS Office application
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, schedule and meet deadlines
