Position Summary:
This Human Resource Professional position works in the District Four office located in Chanute, KS. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise in multiple human resource programs including employment, benefits, equal employment opportunity, employee relations, and classification per delegated authority. This position provides functional leadership and guidance to the area office personnel regarding human resource practices, procedures, and policies.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze a variety of human resource management issues to make recommendations for strategies and practices to support an effective employee relations program.
- Advise district staff, employees, and applicants regarding statutes, regulations, policies, procedures, discipline, employee relations, benefits, equal employment opportunity, and workers' compensation return to duty determinations.
- Provide direct supervision to a Human Resource Professional I, including providing guidance, counseling, and training opportunities.
- Oversee the preparations and processing of personnel transactions and confidential employee personnel files and medical files.
- Manage and coordinate the district recruitment activities and make recommendations and strategies for recruitment sources.
- Assist the district in reviewing position descriptions and requests for allocation or reallocation of positions assigned to the district.
- Coordinate and present Final Boarding training and one-on-one or small group training on human resource related functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing or administering personnel or human resource functions.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.
Post-Offer/Pre-employment Requirements:
- Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.
