Job Description:
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, computer science or related field. Experience performing the duties described herein may substitute for the educational requirement on a year for year basis.
Work Experience:
- 1 year experience working with relational and/or object-oriented databases.
- 1 year experience with information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
- 1 year HRIS experience in an academic setting.
- Workday experience, including report creation.
- Experience gathering and documenting customer requirements.
- 1 year experience creating and maintaining web pages, including familiarity with HTML.
Skills
- Intermediate level experience in the use of Windows personal computers, especially Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
Job Duties
- Validate worker transactions in the Human Resources Information System (Workday) system in an accurate, timely fashion.
- Collaborate with KUMC departments and Human Resources (HR) to confirm compliance with university, state and federal policies and guidelines.
- Collaborate with and educate KUMC departments and HR in data error resolutions, and in utilizing HRIS functionality to meet changing needs.
- Ensure all new hires are correctly passed to, or exist in, the State of Kansas HRIS database for Payroll calculation process.
- Assist Benefits team in resolving State of Kansas Benefits application issues.
- Collaborate with KUMC I.T. to resolve technical and system issues related to data interfaces between the HRIS and various State of Kansas systems.
- Assist with duties as assigned to Workday Administrator roles, including but not limited to correcting candidate, pre-hire, and worker data.
- Assist with the Enterprise Interface Builder to import and perform mass update of data in HRIS.
- Assist with the maintenance of HRIS Supervisory Organizations.
- Create, troubleshoot, maintain, and run reports in HRIS for the State of Kansas, internal departments, and data warehouse staff.
- Export data from HRIS reports and manipulate data using Excel.
- Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of core HRIS Human Resource tables, adding and inactivating values.
- Test HRIS system functionality during phased projects and semi-annual HRIS upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve HR Process and workflow issues.
- Manage and maintain the HR websites (internal and public facing) and HR SharePoint site.
- Assist with gathering and documenting customer requirements and HR processes.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of HR policies and practices.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all levels of the organization in the development or enhancement of existing data, reporting, workflow or integration needs.
- Liaise with external partners including the University of Kansas, Lawrence campus and other State of Kansas agencies to ensure compliance with reporting and transactional actions.
- Document and report status of open and completed tasks and projects.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
