HR SPECIALIST
Seeking an HR Specialist for a high volume, fast paced team environment. Ability to make independent decisions using sound judgment and strong attention to detail is a must to be effective in this position.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. This position will support the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions, to include payroll, benefits administration, recruitment & employee relations. Works under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process New hire onboarding and entering new hire data.
- Process benefit enrollments, changes and terminations.
- Process bi-weekly payrolls in accordance with all Wage and Hour Laws.
- Reconciles benefit statements and other HR related invoices.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions by phone and by email.
- Responding and maintaining the HR Department’s general email inbox.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Coordinate Travel arrangements for employees as needed.
- Update and reconcile vacation and sick pay benefits.
- Maintain and files sensitive employee records; prepares new-employee files; periodically reviews and purges files in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Prepares scheduled and ad hoc reports as required.
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other general office functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recent Human Resources experience
- ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
- Proficient in MS Office – Intermediate to advance Excel skills required
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with business unit leaders
- Ability to communicate effectively on a written and verbal basis to various levels of internal/external personnel
- Attention to detail – very organized
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
