Northwest Machine Works is a growing, family-owned precision machining and manufacturing company located in Canby. We have been producing quick turn, quality parts in a variety of material types for industries ranging from high-tech to consumer products since 1966. We are currently seeking a resourceful, HR Partner & Innovator (HRPI) who thrives as a department of one. This position acts as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders, helps strengthens teams, facilitates critical personnel decisions, and champions employee development.

With a growth-oriented approach, the HRPI manages both strategic system development and day-to-day operational tasks, overseeing the entire employment lifecycle. Responsibilities encompass recruitment, training, employee relations, performance management, policy compliance, best practices implementation, fostering company culture, and ensuring workplace safety. We are looking for the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources demonstrating a broad knowledge of HR functions.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM CP/SCP certification highly desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and HRIS software.
  • Demonstrated experienced navigating organizational growth and associated challenges.
  • Accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality of work.
  • Experience performing HR in a manufacturing environment is helpful.

The HR Partner & Innovator is full-time and works on-site at our facility in Canby. This position is exempt with a starting salary range of $78,000 per year. We offer competitive benefits which includes retirement with up to a 4% match, medical, vision and dental insurance, life, AD&D, and long term disability coverage along with a Health Savings Account (HSA). Other benefits include paid time off and paid holidays.
