SUMMARY

ZERO Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and experienced HR Manager to join our team in North Salt Lake.

This position will report directly to the President and oversee the HR Department staff including the EHS Supervisor. The HR Manager is accountable for each facet of the HR function including but not limited to:

Hiring and Retention

  • Work closely with department managers to recruit and establish hiring strategies that effectively and quickly fill high priority roles.
  • Conduct regular wage analysis across applicable areas to maintain competitive wage structures for both hourly and salaried roles.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the HR Generalist to ensure the application, hiring, and onboarding processes are efficient, and the candidate experience is positive.
  • Partner with Operations to develop retention strategies for their areas specific to the needs of their employees.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Act as plan administrator for all employee benefits including but not limited to 401K administration, Health plan, Dental/Vision, and all other cafeteria plan benefits.
  • Conduct analysis on plan utilization and costs on a quarterly basis and proactively find opportunities to increase employee utilization and engagement.
  • Maintain HRIS system communications and changes with third party benefit providers and ensure compliance with required employee notices.
  • Directly responsible for HR related audits (401K, discrimination testing, etc.) and proactively conduct routine internal audits to ensure compliance and preparation.
  • Manage payroll processing at a high level and ensure compliance with annual deadlines, audits, and deduction changes. Oversee payroll and help troubleshoot/escalate payroll concerns directly with HRIS vendor.

Performance and Labor Management

  • Work closely with Management to develop performance improvement plans and other performance/training related documents.
  • Drive and oversee the annual performance review process for all hourly and salaried employees.
  • Ensure that the EHS Supervisor and HR team is aligned with Operations Training initiatives and supporting those initiatives through various HR forums (orientation, monthly safety meetings, etc.)
  • Work closely with EHS Supervisor to ensure OSHA compliance, incident and investigation rigidity, and Worker Compensation claims are all handled appropriately and timely.
  • Provide reporting to help assess various requests.

Employee and Labor Relations

  • Act as point of contact for escalated employee relation concerns and conduct proper internal investigations that align with ZERO’s investigation procedures.
  • Accountable for responding to all legal inquiries in a timely and professional manner- participate in mediations and hearings on behalf of ZERO Manufacturing.
  • Ensure that proper follow up and remedies are being conducted at the close of investigations.
  • Provide ongoing training to leaders on best practices for responding to employee complaints and concerns.

Minimum Requirements for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or business-related discipline and 7+ years of general HR experience with at least 3+ years in a management / supervisory role with direct reports
  • Additional experience may be evaluated in lieu of degree if accompanied with professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
