Job Title: HR Administrator Reports To: Director of HR
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt Location: Valley View, OH
SUMMARY
Provide support and professional assistance to the Director of HR and the Human Resources Department as well as the Northern Stamping Inc. workforce, in the areas of benefit administration, leaves of absence, and compensation. Establish and maintain knowledge of the organization and company policies and procedures. Must be able to deal with confidential information properly.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Must be hands on and detail oriented while working in a fast paced quickly changing environment.
· Coordinate, manage, and provide communication about company benefit programs to all employees as necessary.
· Assist in the the benefit open enrollment process to include communication of benefits and any changes to the employees; manage process of the creation of enrollment documents whether paper or online; assist HR Department to ensure employees experience a smooth, trouble-free benefit enrollment.
· Assist both Hourly and Salaried employees with general HR related questions and concerns.
· Assist HR Department with employee investigations, Union issues.
· Strong Knowledge of ADP HRIS system heavily preferred.
· Assist in the employee leave of absences to include ensuring required paperwork is completed and filed; manage the duration of the absence, work with outside parties as needed regarding return to work/termination. (STD/LTD, FMLA, Workers' Comp personal LOA)
· Act as a back-up to the payroll administration process.
· Assist in scheduling and conducting new employee orientations.
· Assist in Managing HR records and employee files.
· Monitor and process HR invoices.
· Ensure compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
· Prepare and analyze reports for new hires, turnover, demographics, training etc. using Excel, Access, and ADP
· Onboarding and offboarding of new and former employees, updating their shift, job title, and who they report to if position changes.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma/GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 1-4 years of experience as a HR Admin role supporting a manufacturing environment
3. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) as demonstrated by ability effectively work with hourly, salaried and management employees
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
5. Previous experience in a union environment preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The majority of the work will be performed in an office environment located in a manufacturing plant. However, the HR Admin. will need to interact with employees on the plant floor. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn during those times; safety glasses, hearing protection, safety work shoes/boots.
