POSITION SUMMARY

In this position reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the local delivery and execution of core HR services to employees and managers in accordance with Tandem products principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations. In this position you will perform a variety of employment related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with company policies of the manufacturing facility.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Coordinate new hire orientation
  • Create employee files and file paperwork
  • Assist with the enrollment of employee benefits
  • Maintain employee attendance tracking
  • Assist with interviewing potential candidates
  • Coordinate pre-employment screenings and checks
  • Assist with the enforcement of policies and procedures
  • Communicate policy changes and interpretations to employees
  • Develops human resource solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual
  • Implement and administer employee policies
  • Identify ways to improve policies and procedures
  • Completes special projects as requested; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Be involved in performance management working closely with senior management within the organization
  • The originator of any content sent to employees
  • Coordinates employee events and recognition programs
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
  • Administration and tracking of FMLA, Work Comp and STD cases
  • Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company
  • Manages the recruitment process for nonexempt employees
  • Assists with the monitoring of the company wage and salary structure
  • Facilitates weekly payroll processing
  • Conducts periodic audits of the HR department files
  • Confidentiality: All information relating to HR shall remain private and confidential
  • Accepts other duties and assumes responsibility as assigned or as need become apparent

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with 3 yrs experience within an HR role, or 5-7 years of experience in an HR role will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Communicate with the Plant Manager on day to day duties and tasks
  • Ability to communicate policy changes and interpretations to employees
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Reasonable vision or corrected vision
  • Able to work on computer for extended periods
  • Able to stand and / or sit for long periods of time
  • Able to demonstrate reasonable dexterity
