Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator supports the organization’s staffing and onboarding programs as well as investigates and resolves employee relations issues in conjunction with the HR team. The individual in this position provides HR support and counsel to all employee team members and leaders and is instrumental in facilitating employee communication programs and managing internal data. The HR Coordinator may work in or support any area of Human Resources.


Essential Functions:

  • Support internal and external staffing efforts, including reviewing resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, scheduling and conducting pre-employment testing, attending job fairs; assist internal job candidates with application process
  • Coordinate and facilitate the New Employee Orientation (NEO) events
  • Responsible for HRIS administration
  • Reply to inquiries regarding employee records accurately and timely (unemployment, E-Verify/I9’s, employment verification, reference checks)
  • Participate in the Bridgetown Performance System (specifically with the New Hire Safety Bridge team)
  • In conjunction with HR team, work with managers/supervisors and employees on employee relations issues such as job performance, safety, disciplinary action, conflict resolution, and other confidential topics
  • Take immediate and appropriate action in the investigation and remedy of complaints, such as discrimination, harassment or wage/hour claims
  • Ensure that all federal, state, and local employment regulations are followed accurately and timely and records are maintained in compliance with HR practices and policies
  • Facilitate employee communication, engagement and recognition programs and implement improvements in employee communication methods and materials
  • Assists with the administration of company policies and procedures; implementing and communicating existing and new HR policies and programs
  • Coordinate special projects as assigned, including projects that move the department and company toward strategic goals
  • Responsible for reporting food safety issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s or other degree related to business/human resources preferred
  • Minimum of one year of HR experience in staffing hourly positions required; employee relations experience a plus
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility preferred
  • Knowledge of current state and federal employment laws including EEO, FMLA/OFLA, ADA, etc.
  • Excellent customer service, communication (oral/written) skills, project management and team collaboration skills
  • Strong initiative, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams; prior experience with an HRIS system a plus
  • Ability to work successfully with all levels of employees/management
  • Experience and/or ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, quickly changing environment
  • Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English
  • Multi-lingual a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

  • Primarily an office environment but occasionally individual is on production floor with exposure to heat, dust and allergens.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • Must be able to ascend and descend building stairways and ramps to perform tasks required in job description
  • Position requires frequent sitting for long periods of time with occasional standing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting.
