HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATE
ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

REPORTS TO: CFO
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Associate supports Bay Shore Systems’ HR processes by advising and assisting management on human resources issues and administering a variety of personnel related administrative duties to Bay Shore employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides day to day operation of HR functions to Bay Shore management and employees.
- Responds to management and employee requests for guidance on human resource regulations, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Regularly reviews employee handbook, policies, and practices for compliance.
- Process workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
- Manage benefits for employees and company, enrollments, self-insured dental plan, terminations, changes, etc.
- Update and maintain posted human resources documentation.
- Processes documentation and prepares reports for recruitment/new hire process including posting job advertisements, organizing resumes, scheduling job interviews, checking references, background checks, preparing new employee files, overseeing the completion of compensation and benefit documentation and new hire orientation.
- Provides HR guidance and support in grievances, performance reviews, personnel issues, compensation, benefits, workers’ comp, and dental claims.
- Provides clerical and administrative support to administrative and accounting staff.
- Responsible for arranging and managing company social events.
- Communicates with public services as necessary.
- Conduct initial orientation to new hires.
- Administer coordination and compliance of the safety program.
- Share time answering phones and directing calls.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or a related course of studies plus three to five years’ experience in a professional environment. In-depth knowledge of the company and manufacturing in general is a plus. Employer will accept equivalent education and experience.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft software, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Accurate and thoroughness in work; detail oriented.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong interpersonal, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong work ethic with commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position does not require a high level of physical flexibility or strength. But, does require the ability to: see and assess written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals; and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, equipment, hot materials, moderate to extreme noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Must agree to wear any and all necessary personal protective equipment to include: o Eye protection required to reduce risk of injury. o Approved footwear required. o Ear protection is required. o Other PPE as necessary to perform duties
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
