Join our team at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, a vibrant and innovative charter school committed to providing quality education from 6th to 12th grade. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support our Human Resources & Operations department in maintaining a positive and productive work environment for our staff. As an HR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the HR department with various administrative tasks related to recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance. You will be the first point of contact for staff regarding HR-related inquiries and will work closely with the HR team to ensure efficient operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership

  • Collaborate and lead as part of the greater school team and community.

Talent Recruitment Support

  • Assist with job postings, resume screening, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork and orientation sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate information and recruitment activities.

Student Recruitment Support

  • Assist with student recruitment efforts by coordinating admissions processes, including application review, scheduling interviews, and communicating with prospective students and their families.
  • Collaborate with admissions staff to organize recruitment events, such as open houses, school tours, and information sessions, to attract and engage potential students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student inquiries, applications, and enrollment data to track recruitment metrics and inform strategic planning.
  • Provide administrative support to the admissions team, including preparing materials, managing inquiries, and assisting with outreach activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of marketing and outreach strategies to promote the school and attract prospective students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital content, to effectively communicate the school's mission, programs, and unique offerings to prospective students and families.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a liaison between employees and HR regarding inquiries, concerns, and requests.
  • Assist with the resolution of employee relations issues in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication between staff and management to foster a positive work environment.

Benefits Administration

  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Maintain benefit records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

HR Compliance

  • Assist with the maintenance of HR records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures to promote fairness and consistency.
  • Assist with HR audits and compliance reviews as needed.

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including file maintenance, data entry, and report generation.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing departmental correspondence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the HR department and the school.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for HFCA mission and a desire to positively impact student learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Adaptability and openness to learning and growth.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and HRIS software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in HR administration or related field is advantageous.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow up skills, demonstrating ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong sense of urgency, prioritizing student experience and outcomes.
  • Strong sense of team and ability to work with and on a team to invest team members and drive outcomes.
  • Charter school experience in an urban setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of mobility through a large campus, and at times prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.
  • Occasional travel between two school campuses within five mile distance.

Other Requirements

  • The job may require occasional evening or weekend hours for family engagement events and meetings.
