Position Summary:

Hourly Range: $21.60 - $28.90 / Hour + Commissions

Government Account Managers will contact Government Agencies to get our product into the Agency. Receives and initiates communications with customers and provides them with quotations on items, enters orders, and relays important information to customers. Attending trade shows and conferences to meet existing clients, and to obtain contacts in efforts to attract new clients. Maintain a well-ordered and organized database.

After Wiley X training, employees must demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of our current and past products as well as a thorough understanding of Government specifications, requirements, and the Government ordering process. It is a critical function as a Government Account Manager to provide the highest level of service always, on every call. Government Account Manager must understand Commercial Sales; reciprocally supporting Commercial Sales. Performs semi-routine duties where some judgment is required when communicating with customers. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Initiates outbound calls and/or emails and/or other forms of communication from clients to obtain new clients and to service existing clients while meeting communication goals. Communication goals to be determined by the department manager.
  • Receives telephone calls and/or emails and other communications from clients with requests for price quotations, product questions, new orders, order adjustments, or order cancellations.
  • Achieves and maintains rapport with clients and works to give them the best possible service.
  • Meets or exceeds quarterly sales quota. The quarterly sales quota will be determined by the department manager.
  • Travels by airplane to various military trade shows, conferences, and meetings to solidify relationships with existing clients as well as bring in new clients. The department manager will decide who goes to which trade shows.
  • Sends out Testing and Evaluation (T&E) samples to qualifying units. T&E goals will be determined by the department manager.
  • Maintains a well-ordered database.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate excellent computer skills for data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a DMV check.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
  • Two (2) years of sales or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior Federal/Law Enforcement/Military experience preferred, but not required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 30 pounds
