Position Overview
The External Contract Manufacturing Manager will coordinate efforts between Exact Sciences and key contract manufacturing partners to begin, maintain, optimize, and nurture the program’s success in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. The External Contract Manufacturing Manager will ensure organizational standards of satisfaction, quality and performance are being met by both sides. The External Contract Manufacturing Manager should have a sharp business mind and proven ability to strategize and implement high level program initiatives through strong leadership, demonstration by example and communication with partners. This position will be required to ensure program goals are being reached through close coordination with internal functions and external suppliers. The External Contract Manufacturing Manager will track and manage all aspects of the production and Supply at the CMO partners’ off-site locations including but not limited to, purchase orders, contracting, assets and projects.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers and cross functional internal teams including Quality, Engineering, and Marketing when opportunities arise and technical support/follow up is required.
- Attend/coordinate cross functional meetings that support new initiatives or could impact contract manufacturers.
- Provide updates to stakeholders to ensure all are aware of ongoing initiatives and projects within contract manufacturing supply chain.
- Develop SOW with suppliers to build out capabilities, make improvements or support the supply chain.
- Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Provide technical information to suppliers to support investigations and partner with Quality.
- Manage program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
- Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance and advise management and quality of questionable circumstances that could impact the program.
- Build knowledge of the Suppliers enterprise, processes, supply chain, and management to best support the program.
- Manage relationships with the Supplier, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Management, Clinical Affairs and Operations teams.
- Proven leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multi-level personnel as well as vendors and their representatives.
- Strong attention-to-detail.
- Hold business reviews with suppliers on a regular schedule to ensure alignment on items such as quality, forecast, projects, capacity, company objectives, and asset life.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly develop and maintain strong relationships with customers both internal and external.
- Dedicated team player who can withstand the high demands of a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication skills are essential.

- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
- Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
- Ability to travel 20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Management or related field.
- 7+ years of demonstrated work experience commensurate to above job duties.
- 1+ years of experience in injection molding, sourcing of injection molded parts, high-volume assembly processes, or related contract manufacturing experience.
- Detailed knowledge of GMP facilities, equipment, and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional industry experience.
- 2+ years of program management experience.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Experience with contract management and negotiations.
- Experience with asset management and capital expenditures.
- Experience with international supply channels and customers.

Salary Range:
$74,000.00 - $118,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
