Position Summary
Avantax Planning Partners is seeking an Enrollment Specialist II – Retirement Plan Services who will be responsible for developing, leading, and delivering employee education meetings for our retirement plan services clients and their employees. This individual will possess the ability to speak in front of groups and employees on a one-to-one basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure that enrollment meetings for new and existing clients are scheduled, prepped, and delivered.
  • Provide employee education to new and existing clients both in person and via phone queue for participants. Travel required.
  • Work with our client’s employees to develop a personal plan for retirement.
  • Prepare enrollment communication material.
  • Support client and participant via e-mail inquiry queue.
  • Support education is needed for 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and DB cash balance plans.
  • Develop and monitor employee education curriculum based on business and client needs.
  • Present educational topics to clients, employees, CPAs/Advisors over the phone and or video.
  • Stay current with changing retirement plan rules and regulations.
  • Prepare and provide plan and participant-level reporting through the Relius recordkeeping platform and Crystal reports.
  • Provide training support for other team members as needed.
  • Supports peers in a lead capacity to solve internal and external client issues.
  • Responsible for developing, leading, and delivering employee education meetings for our retirement plan services clients and their employees both on-site at clients’ locations and virtually.
  • This individual will possess the ability to speak in front of groups and employees on a one-to-one basis with knowledge of retirement plans and investment portfolios.
  • The Enrollment Specialist II will lead and implement program enhancements for presentations and materials for participant education.
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of retirement industry experience required.
  • Series 65 required.
  • Working knowledge of Relius record-keeping systems is required.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, CRM Database, PowerPoint, email, and internet usage preferred.
  • Knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations relating to qualified plans.
  • Retirement industry experience required.
  • Professional level presentation experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
Physical Demand & Work Effort
  • Keying/typing, standing, walking.
  • Sitting for an extended period.
  • Constant mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in an office environment.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during the normal performance of the job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
