Engineering Process Quality Assurance Analyst I in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
This is an analyst position requiring experience with quality assurance, process evaluation, and continuous improvement philosophies, methodologies, and practices. A successful candidate will be able to:
- Support the implementation of the current Engineering Process Quality Assurance program
- Execute assessments across critical business areas, primarily within the Engineering organization
- Initiate thorough research and reporting of potential process risk and action plans for improvement
- Proactively address negative trends that may expose the organization to regulatory findings
- Interface with primary process owners regarding assessments, risks, and findings
In addition, the successful candidate will be able to:
- Support knowledge management through the organization's operational business processes and systems identifying and pursuing opportunities to connect knowledge sharing and the information systems; focus on improving integration among information systems in the organization to push toward seamless exchange of information across the organization.
- Support priorities and expectations for knowledge sharing through communication, engagement/participation, and report on progress and measures of knowledge management elements.
- Support employee expectations for knowledge sharing by communicating about knowledge management initiatives, progress, best practices, and opportunities for participation cross the organization.
Required:
- Experience with value-stream mapping, business process management, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency with a process mapping tool such as Microsoft Visio.
- Experience with SharePoint 2016, or later.
Preferred:
- Green belt and/or Black belt certifications.
- Experience with the ISO 9000-series quality assurance standards.
- Experience using work management tools such as OneNote, DevOps, Jira, or similar.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Related STEM curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job. 8 years engineering, research, development test and evaluation technology programs, and or project development and management. 5 years related experience that includes process quality/process improvement
engineering, research, development test and evaluation technology programs, and or project development and management.
. Master's Degree preferred.
Position Purpose:
As part of the Gulfstream Engineering team, assists with all of the engineering and technical and business operations processes, tools, and audit related activities. These may be department or discipline specific or cross-functional spanning across Gulfstream Engineering and through other parts of the Innovation, Engineering and Flight (IEF) organization.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Contributes to and assists in the development and integration of strategic workflow for engineering policies, processes and work procedures, including Corporate and Program Directives; engineering design as embodied in the Gulfstream Engineering Manual and subordinate work methods; and engineering business operations.
- Provides assistance to teams of technical staff and other subject matter experts to understand engineering process requirements and improvement opportunities.
- Interacts with appropriate technical resources to aid in the evaluation and development of engineering and IEF policies, procedures and strategies for complying with Gulfstream requirements. Coordinate/lead discussions with Gulfstream engineering technical personnel primarily, and key SMEs from other areas of the business as needed.
- Leads work teams including cross-functional process improvement teams to develop engineering processes, procedures, and standards and ensure their implementation.
- Participates in the development, deployment, and integration of all engineering electronic tools related to business process/content management and standards delivery.
- Provides expertise, information, and proposed actions on engineering process and tools requirements and issues related to engineering activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Advanced degree/certification in engineering or business/operations discipline (e.g., Project Control, Project/Program Management, Operations Research, Engineering Management) or related curriculum preferred.
- Systems Engineering and multi-disciplinary integration certification or work experience highly preferred. Some examples of certification for this experience are: SAE ARP4754, INCOSE, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Systems Engineering.
- Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Greenbelt, or equivalent, certification preferred.
- Experience with no-code software development, such as workflows, business process modeling, simulation, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, and Sharepoint collaboration experience preferred.
Proficiency with a process mapping tool such as Microsoft Visio, or other Business Process Management suite.
