Job Summary: Set up, operate and maintain a variety of test equipment to perform electrical, electronic and mechanical tests on a variety of control equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities: Applies electronic and mechanical theory to perform testing of components for electrical, mechanical and environmental characteristics. Organizes work by receiving work requests; studying wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications; testing systems and components; determining cause of problems and requirements to solve problems. Test results obtained aid in vendor qualification, customer inquiry and failure analysis.

Interprets specifications, vendor data sheets and Mil-Standards, defining test set-ups, fixture construction, and program generation for automated testing, detailed documentation and test summarization.

Characterizes devices, capacitors, switches, relays, resistors, and various other components using a large variety of test equipment.

Maintains equipment by repairing and replacing components, circuits and electronic devices.

Completes preventative maintenance schedule by inspecting and testing components, circuits, and electronic devices.

Installs equipment by completing wiring and installation of components, circuits, and electronic devices.

Documents actions by completing logs and records; updating diagrams and drawings.

Maintains safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and codes.

Keeps tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:Requires an A.S. degree in appropriate discipline, or in the absence of an associate’s degree, five years of related experience.

Knowledge of electronic systems, electronic production and/or optical technologies.

Possesses an understanding of circuit design, component application and troubleshooting.

Strong workplace ethical behavior.

Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Analytical tools – ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.

Works under minimal supervision.

Hands-on problem solving skills.

English, must speak/read/write

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
