Responsibilities for electrician
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial/industrial settings.
- Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical wiring and components.
- Follow electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance.
- Perform electrical inspections, tests, and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical components, such as circuit breakers, wiring, outlets, and switches.
- Install new electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, circuit breakers, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to coordinate electrical installations within larger projects.
- Respond to emergency calls and resolve electrical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, diagrams, and schematics.
- Ability to Develop Electrical Wiring Diagrams (E-PLAN or SolidWorks Electrical) is considered a plus.
Qualifications for electrician
- Must be able to work all required shift hours, overtime and weekends, as needed
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Proven experience as an electrician in commercial/industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical problems and providing effective solutions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Works efficiently with work order system to document repairs and perform preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
- Perform basic inspections and repairs on production equipment.
- Fundamental math, and good reading and writing skills.
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or more years of directly related experience preferred.
- Availability to travel to Monterrey, Mexico for about 2-4 weeks;
- Availability to travel in the USA for about 2-4 weeks;
- Availability to work on weekends and after normal business hours;
