We have an immediate opening for an experienced Electrical Engineering Test Technician to support the manufacturing team to power-up control boxes and motion systems, perform basic controller setup and servo tuning, diagnose and trouble shoot, use electrical equipment and tools such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, wire strippers, cutters, crimpers and basic hand tools, solder wires and basic PCBs. This a full-time position based on our Hopkinton, MA location.


What You Will Do:

  • Mechanical assembly and testing of machinery and devices requiring precision alignments and measurements, in accordance with 2D and 3D assembly drawings and written procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair problems with product returned from the field.
  • Perform basic controller setup and servo tuning, including power-up control boxes and motion systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common mis-wires or craftmanship issues.
  • Process vendor RMAs and troubleshoot DOA components.
  • Support production activities as required to achieve the goals or the entire department.
  • Mentor other Technicians in the areas of assembly, troubleshooting, and testing products.
  • Report failures and defects via company quality processes.
  • Ability to cooperate with others in a team effort to achieve quality, safety and productivity goals
  • Ability to work overtime to meet production schedule as needed.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering on fixture development, process improvements, corrective actions, and any other measures needed to drive continuous improvement within the group.
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.

What Have You Done:

  • An EET degree or equivalent trade school or equivalent 2-year degree.
  • Have a minimum of 5-years relevant experience in automation and/or motion control.
  • Must be capable of completing assembly and test records for regulatory and quality control requirements.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use common electrical equipment, DVM, oscilloscope, current probe.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, wire strippers, cutters, crimpers, drills, taps.
  • Ability to do basic soldering of through hole and surface mount PCBs.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work activities.
  • Automotive experience desirable but not required.
