RISE is seeking an Electrical Apprentice in Rhode Island to perform electrical work in commercial/industrial, government, and residential environments. The Electrical Apprentice will work under the supervision of a Journeymen Electrician performing the installation and retrofitting of premium efficiency lighting in a wide variety of commercial and industrial facilities.
This position will work from a variety of ladders and aerial lifts to perform the installations and will be required to drive from location to location throughout the course of the workday and work week. This position requires strict adherence to company safety guidelines and practices, as well as maintaining a clean work site that minimally interferes with customers’ business operations.
The position is based out of the Cranston, RI offices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment.
- Provide accurate written documentation and progress reports.
Education & Experience
- 1+ years' experience as an Apprentice Electrician
- experience in the installation of premium efficiency lighting upgrades
- Familiarity with energy management systems, controls, variable frequency drives or high efficiency motors
Physical Demands
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
- The employee must frequently lift and move items 20 pounds and under
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to ascend or descend on extension ladders up to heights of twenty-four feet using feet and/or hands and arms.
- Employee will frequently be required to work with their arms overhead.
- Ability to work in varying conditions with exposure to any or all of the following: Heat, Cold, Heights, Dust, Dirt, Indoor, Outdoors, and Confined Areas.
