Purpose of Position

The Maintenance Duty Manager manages the tactical “day of” maintenance operations in the System Operation Center (SOC) to ensure timely repair of NetJets aircraft. The Maintenance Duty Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and execution of the daily maintenance plan. The Maintenance Duty Manager is responsible to ensure business decisions are made in the best interest of safety, regulatory and company policy as outlined in NJA 14 CFR 135 General Maintenance Manual for NetJets aircraft maintenance. The Maintenance Duty Manager is empowered to conduct and carry out designated functions of the Director of Maintenance (DOM) office. This is a 24/7/365 day a year position and individuals must be flexible in working with this type of scheduling.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • As DOM Designee, reports directly to the Director of Maintenance.
  • The Maintenance Duty Manager is the maintenance liaison between Strategic Operations, Owner Services, and the Flight Operations Duty Manager and holds the responsibility of managing all communication between the SOC and maintenance departments.
  • Coordinates with internal and external maintenance departments to ensure federal and other relevant regulatory compliance functions are adhered to relating to maintenance and flight operations policies and procedures in the Maintenance Control function. The purpose of this function is to ensure safety and service standards remain paramount.
  • Freely shares critical business information with the Flight Operations Duty Manager, maintenance leadership, Stategic Operations, Dispatch and Owner Services in a timely manner. Responsibilities may also include planning, assigning, and directing work; coordination of maintenance priorities; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • The Maintenance Duty Manager is empowered to conduct and carry out designated functions of the Director of Maintenance (DOM) office. Supervises, in an executive capacity, the maintenance or alteration of NetJets aircraft. Ensures all Maintenance Controllers know their daily assignments and encourages personal ownership and accountability for out of service aircraft.
  • Provides accurate, timely shift reports to the Aircraft Maintenance Department employees. Ensures review of the daily aircraft maintenance status and aircraft MEL list for the NJA fleet. Ensures the Director of Maintenance and the General Manager, Maintenance Control Center are immediately notified of unusual circumstances or incidents. Performs any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and NetJets Aviation (NJA) objectives.

Bachelor's in Business Administration or Aviation

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Four to six to years experience working in an aircraft maintenance control environment.
  • Two years leadership experience working in an aircraft maintenance control environment.
  • Knowledge & understanding of turbine powered aircraft systems.
  • Personnel management experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • The ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
