Job Summary

Sourcing Strategy and Execution (SSE) leverages the provider market landscape with Otsuka partners to:
  • develop sourcing strategies that address long-term business needs, and
  • enable the execution of competitive contracts.
SSE contributes to mitigate risk, increase performance, and drive efficiencies for R&D services to better serve our patients.

This position leverages sourcing strategy best practice by developing and implementing optimal sourcing strategies and leading a provider relationship management program with strategic providers in close collaboration with partners and SSE team to support R&D needs with providers.

Job Description/Key responsibilities

Management:
  • Promotes and leads a team of Sourcing Strategy Category Leaders that best support company strategy
  • Defines goals based on business needs and functional objectives
  • Hires, on-boards, develops and retains Sourcing Strategy Category Leaders
  • Assesses competencies, identifies training needs, and develops Sourcing Strategy Category Leaders
  • Assigns sourcing categories and manages workload
  • Monitors and reports activity progress
Strategy:
  • Establishes close working relationships with functional category sponsors and functional category owners to ensure the highest service level
  • Understands business strategy and business objectives
  • Ensures sourcing strategies, templates, and provider relationship management are developed and implemented for selected strategic categories
  • Leverages provider market landscape
  • Develops and implements sourcing strategies for service categories to support long-term business needs
  • Identifies preferred providers that best support current and future business needs/requirements for selected service categories with functional category owners
  • Negotiates and implements competitive agreements with strategic providers
  • Develops category-specific sourcing templates and tools
  • Works with functional category owner to define KPIs and monitor provider performance
  • Coordinates a provider relationship management program with regular governance meetings with strategic providers when relevant
  • Ensures sourcing strategy documentation is properly formalized and filed for inspection readiness
  • Provides any sourcing support and expertise as required
Requirements

Qualification/experience
  • Bachelor degree in management or science
  • Minimum of 10 years in Sourcing/Procurement or vendor management in the pharma industry
