Position Type:

Full-time or part-time based on candidate skillset and availability, 20 hours minimum for Part-time, target of 40-45 hours / week with occasional Saturday availability based on business need.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Talent is responsible for creating and executing strategies that impact the team. He/she is conscience of restaurant culture, in-tune with employee performance levels and opportunities, and aware of the growth of the business as it pertains to capacity of the team and the future addition of roles.

Recruiting

  • Drive application traffic to ensure an adequate flow of candidates year-round
  • Create and maintain fresh/relevant recruiting materials for digital and in-restaurant use
  • Manage recruiting referral program

Interviewing

  • Establish an efficient/effective interview process including scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, turn downs, and scheduling second round of interviews
  • Ensure legal guidelines are followed in screening and interviewing applicants
  • Know the staffing needs of the business at all times by communicating with the Front and Back of House Directors

On-Boarding

  • Develop and execute an onboarding checklist
  • Execute all onboarding components and evaluate continuously to look for areas of improvement.
  • Ensure all paperwork is collected, compliant, and organized appropriately
  • Coordinate and schedule initial training period with trainers
  • File all employee documents

Human Resources

  • Oversee administration of benefits for the team including PTO, retirement, health, wellness, and other benefits
  • Ensure corrective action and performance reviews are administered fair and consistently including documentation
  • Constantly review store and company policies to ensure we are in compliance and up to date
  • Up to date on labor laws and ensure all required signage is visible in the store and up to date
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for compensation system

Training

  • Lead the training program for the restaurant
  • Lead training tracking and ongoing certifications of all staff

Required and/or Preferred Qualification:

  • HR certificate
  • 3 years experience minimum
  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Organizational skills
  • Computer literate
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Team Player

Success Factors and Measurements:

  • Staffing levels will be consistently met with quality talent and minimal variation; retention and turnover rates will rank in top 20% of chain-wide average
  • Systems will be in place so no team member misses the opportunity to participate in benefits at the proper time
  • Should have expert knowledge of policy manual and implement consistently with entire team
  • Team has a “happy” feel about it and individuals have confidence there is a safe place to go with problems
  • Culture meetings and trips happen on a regular basis and the restaurant’s values are evident particularly among leaders
  • All team members have a development plan that is reviewed at least semi-annually. Leaders have more concrete paths that are part of an active development initiative.
  • New TMs are met with regularly, progress measured and probationary period utilized
