Position Description:

Leads the Learning & Development function for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities with a key focus on increasing Team Member engagement and effectiveness at all levels. Partners with senior GCNA leadership to identify, plan, develop, implement and evaluate learning & development initiatives including compliance, culture, policy and procedure, safety, systems and job-readiness training across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Learning & Development team to develop and deliver timely and relevant company-wide learning solutions that cost-effectively equip and empower Team Members to meet both business and personal career goals.
  • Instills a performance-focused mindset within the Learning & Development team as they design and deliver training to include organizational boarding, initial job readiness, and continuous job upskilling training.
  • Develops, allocates, and oversees the Learning & Development budget, including negotiation of related vendor’s contracts.
  • Assists in the facilitation of GCNA Learning Council meetings by presenting data on training program effectiveness, performance trends and ROI, along with recommendations for enhanced performance.
  • Participates in relevant industry groups to represent GCNA in the community. Researches latest developments in talent development areas and keeps abreast in order to serve as a subject matter expert; Consults with business leaders regarding critical people issues.
  • Partners with EPMO and key business leaders to build and maintain strategic learning plans that meet business needs through a comprehensive and consultative training needs assessment process.
  • Collaborates with HR and key business leaders to systematically analyze individual, team, or organizational performance, then co-design and execute learning & development strategies and efforts that deliver desired business results in a measurable way.
  • Oversees the GCNA learning curriculum portfolio, consults with key business leaders to revise and/or revamp current learning assets, while also identifying emerging needs for new learning assets.
  • Partners with key business leaders to continuously evaluate and improve existing learning Programs to include, but not limited to, My Career Matters, New Hire Orientation, Retail G90.
  • Oversees the day-to-day administration of the Learning Management System and related training technology tools and resources.
  • Partners with appropriate groups to ensure systems-related learning assets are up-to-date, relevant and effective in meeting business needs.
  • Ensures that effective information reporting tools are accessible to business leaders as they work to support the organization’s learning & development objectives.
  • Responsible for performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development of the Learning & Development Team Members.
  • Models and inspires a growth mindset within the Learning & Development team while leading an ongoing talent review process which focuses on building bench strength to meet current and future business needs.
  • Provides coaching and support to leaders that is aligned with development plans.
  • Plays critical role in driving company culture change efforts and change management processes.

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field, preferred.
  • Appropriate HR certification(s) preferred.
  • 7-10 years’ related work experience, with two or more years in a senior manager role and five or more years managing operational teams.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Valid drivers’ license and clean MVR.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
