Dental Laboratory Technician - in house ceramist/digital

Full-time 8 months ago
Employment Information

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented dental lab ceramist/lab tech. Our office has 4 doctors with a full suite in house lab (we can provide any missing equipment/materials) and is completely digital. We are in need of someone with ceramist skills for layered/stacked porcelain/e.max to create in-house veneers or work on zirconia/e.max cutbacks in the anterior area.

Currently we have one other full time digital lab tech who you would work with and run some swing shifts to make schedules easier. We are expecting you to also know or learn digital design and fabrication to help split lab duties as our volume is growing.

Occasionally you would be expect to help with shade-matching and same day delivery of 3D printed temporaries as well. However we'd like to set up a partial work-from-home capability for both lab techs to make the job a little easier.

More than anything we need someone who has exceptional ceramic and digital lab skills and wants to just work for one practice instead of a lab. We have a large staff, a beautiful office, and great location in Fort Worth. The hours for this position are somewhat fluid but all of that is able to be discussed at the time of interview.

Duties:

- Help keep the lab tracking, processing, and delivery of cases on time.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision
- 3D design and fabrication using Exocad and 3D printing programs
- Layering/stacking for cutback crowns and veneers
- Come to work on time and prepared
- Work in a larger team and help foster a happy and healthy environment

Qualifications:

- 1 year experience with ceramic layering in a dental office/lab
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and fabrication
- Knowledge of custom staining/glazing for finishing
- Be detail oriented
- Develop, maintain, and follow proper lab protocol

This position offers a little different experience for a lab tech in that we will be working around and be visible by patients. We have a large stuff that is very fun and social. Our practice has been around since 1975 and moved to a new and beautiful location two years ago to help facilitate our growth. We currently have a lab set up but are more than happy to add/develop the equipment and materials you would need to do the best job possible. We also happy to include additional CE training and growth for the team.

You would be working very closely on a daily basis with our current lab tech who is extremely proficient on the digital side and custom staining/glazing as well. For cosmetic cases we will often bring one of you into the operatory to look at shade, skin tone, and other elements necessary for creating and ideal outcome. Being personable and presentable to patients (we all wear scrubs) is important as meeting the people making their crowns/veneers is important tot he overall patient experience.

Our office offers competitive guaranteed pay include 3 weeks PTO, quarterly bonus, and 401k matching (all of these are graded and come after 1-2 years with the office not from the start). The schedule is more fluid for lab techs and we would like to create a work-from-home aspect for the digital side that can be split between the techs to help make the position more attractive but the majority of the job will be on-site and in-person. We want to be around the people we work with and have face-to-face conversations when discussing cases.

If you are interested please call 830-822-9100 and leave me a voicemail explaining a little about yourself, what you're looking for in this position, and why you'd be the ideal candidate. If chosen to interview please have case photos available for email so we can review before reaching the in-person interview portion.
