Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Database Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that data remains consistent across the database by creating and maintaining database standards, policies and procedures
  • Ensure the data is accessible and reportable
  • Keep the database clean by ensuring the records are accurate
  • Keep the database clean by performing searches to find duplicates and then researching and merging all true duplicates
  • Create and maintain data analysis models and procedures
  • Properly categorize users by member status, group, etc.
  • Properly categorize ministries by groups
  • Prepare reports as requested
  • Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
  • Limit users’ database access to areas that are necessary
  • Add, remove and edit user access as needed
  • Train users on the database
  • Communicate with the congregation concerning their records
  • Oversee mass communications (email or SMS messaging) to congregation
  • Track capacity and plan accordingly
  • Monitor performance and manage system health to provide quick access to data for the user
  • Consider back-end organization of data along with front end accessibility for the user
  • Commission and install new applications and customize existing applications to optimize the functionality of the database
  • Communicate and work closely with software support to resolve all issues or problems that arise in using the database
  • Develop, maintain and test backup and recovery plans
  • Safeguard the database in accordance with FTC regulations particularly those concerning cloud-based databases
  • Be proactive in tracking changes in laws and regulations concerning data security
  • Be an active member of the Incident Response Team
  • Attend regional or national training, watch available videos, use software support to increase database knowledge
  • Research new options/functions/features/technologies and make proposals to the CFO
  • Be proactive in creating structures with ministries for known upcoming events
  • Resolve all technical difficulty with the software company and then relay the solutions to the users
  • Ensure effective set-up of, function of, and links between groups, giving, registration, calendar, forms, process queues, check-in, attendance, room scheduling, etc.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of database structure and theory
  • Knowledge of basic disaster recovery procedures
  • Familiarity with reporting tools
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
