ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead and manage a team of database administrators, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure team effectiveness and growth.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet organizational needs, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and data migration.
  • Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.
  • Monitor database performance and availability, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop database solutions that meet organizational needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend database technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability of database systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including database schemas, configurations, and procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in database management, participating in professional development activities and training as needed.
  • Able to engage in a technical discussion, issue and troubleshooting scenario, when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience (10+years) in database administration, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong technical proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.
  • Expertise in database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, with a deep understanding of database internals and optimization techniques.
  • Experience implementing and managing database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) preferred.
