Position will sit at Indian Head but may be able to split time between IH and DIA HQ.
The Database Administrator is entrusted with the crucial responsibility of ensuring the robustness, security, and accessibility of several databases. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of functions, including but not limited to, orchestrating disaster recovery protocols, conducting performance analysis and optimization, managing indexes, and overseeing data monitoring activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and enhance the security and integrity of the database(s) through the formulation and execution of relevant policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and provide recommendations on the selection of database management system (DBMS) products.
- Engage in database and software lifecycle management to optimize system performance and availability, aligning with business objectives.
- Administer various DBMS environments, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE, in addition to Application server administration.
- Design and implement efficient data organization and formatting techniques to streamline query processes and data storage.
- Ensure educational and experiential prerequisites are met, typically requiring a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years of pertinent experience, although equivalent professional experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education.

Required Qualifications:
- Possess an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance, with a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, complemented by at least eight years of related experience; however, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), with hands-on experience in versions 12c and 19c, and adept management of Oracle streams, text, multimedia, and spatial.
- Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with middleware such as JBOSS, Apache, Tomcat, and programming in Java.
- Proficiency in Linux environments, including CENTOS and RHEL.
- Possession of an active CompTIA Security+ CE Certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Elastic search technologies.
- Prior experience within the Intelligence Community (IC).
- Knowledge of the system accreditation process.
- Previous experience with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is preferred.
