Security Clearance Requirements:
This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data stored in MSSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB databases, implementing necessary measures to prevent data corruption or loss.
- Create and manage database user accounts ensuring appropriate access levels and permissions are granted based on organizational requirements.
- Administer and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard databases against unauthorized access, intrusion, and data breaches, maintaining confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
- Organize and format data structures to facilitate efficient query processing and storage, enhancing database performance across MSSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB environments.
- Assess business requirements and recommend suitable database management system (DBMS) products, considering factors such as scalability, reliability, and compatibility.
- Offer server administration support for a range of database products including Oracle, SQL Server, and Sybase, ensuring smooth operation and integration with underlying server infrastructure.
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as disaster recovery planning, performance analysis, index maintenance, and data monitoring, proactively addressing issues to optimize database performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Years of Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and ten (10) years of experience as a DBA.
- Fourteen (14) years of experience as a DBA may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills
- Candidates should have hands-on experience with various database management systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), Oracle, MySQL, and MongoDB. Proficiency in administering, optimizing, and troubleshooting databases across different platforms is essential.
- A solid understanding of database security principles, access controls, encryption techniques, and compliance standards.
- The ability to diagnose and resolve database performance issues, conduct performance tuning, and optimize query execution is vital.
- Must be able to work during the core hours of 10am-2pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with AWS RDS.
- Familiarity with database administrative tasks such as backups, database migrations and cloning and restoring (preferably using AWS RDS).
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite
