Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems architected using a microservices framework.
  • Maintain and scale enterprise level databases as a part of technical solution to meet customer objectives and project requirements.
  • Monitor and configure database systems and databases to achieve optimum performance levels; Perform indexing, data partitioning and performance tuning as required.
  • Support complex database software installations, patching and upgrades to operating systems and related database software packages
  • Document backup and recovery procedures, perform backups, automate and monitor logging.
  • Support database data integrity by implementing and managing appropriate solutions of varying complexities.
  • Support external audits and conduct audits of databases to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Leverage open-source platforms, tools, databases, front-end frameworks, and middleware.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing and managing enterprise-level Oracle database versions 12c and 19c.
  • 2+ years of experience with reference data management, schema segregation/consolidation, database consolidation/segregation, container and pluggable database creation and porting to cloud-based environments, preferably AWS RDS.
  • Ability to work with functional application DBAs and address the data and processing quality issues and develop solutions.
  • Ability to find database structure and configuration level issues at domain and integrity-level constraints, check constraints, and list, range, hybrid and partitioning.
  • Ability to demonstrate the proper techniques used for database backup and restoration, managing database performance and performing typical security lockdown procedures.
  • Extensive experience in ETL, process mapping, and data transformation
  • Experience with improving performance on enterprise applications with large data.
  • Be up to date on the current technology landscape, be technology agnostic, and have a passion for staying current and experimenting with new approaches and tools.
  • Able to communicate effectively with high-level U.S. Government, senior management, internal customers, and external partners.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline
Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or other related field.
Clearance: FDA Public Trust clearance must be obtainable
Location: Hybrid - locals to DMV area highly preferred.
