As a pivotal member of the NSM IT Project team within the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), you will play a crucial role in the effective implementation and maintenance of the Titan platform, bolstered by an advanced automation system for equipment preventative maintenance. With the recent allocation of 4.7 million dollars in IT Capital Funds, this project is primed for significant advancements over the next year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management and Administration:
  • Lead data migration, cleanup, and reporting tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Oversee the integration of fixed asset systems, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Conduct thorough testing and piloting operations to validate system functionality.
  • Facilitate school rollouts, providing support and guidance during implementation phases.
  • Grade user interface reports to maintain quality standards and user satisfaction.
  • System Integration and Optimization:
  • Establish API connections and develop QR code solutions to streamline processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis to understand organizational system needs.
  • Drive research and development efforts to enhance system capabilities and efficiency.
  • Maintain system efficiency through regular evaluation, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Devise and execute strategies to uphold system security across networks and computers.
  • Assign and update security permissions to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address security vulnerabilities.
  • User Support and Training:
  • Provide training and guidance to users on software and hardware utilization.
  • Address user queries and troubleshoot system issues promptly and effectively.
  • Infrastructure Management:
  • Track, install, and configure software updates to optimize system performance.
  • Perform database backups to safeguard critical user information.
  • Install and maintain network hardware and software components.
  • Collaborative Contribution:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Adapt to evolving project requirements and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of relevant experience in database administration and system management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access and demonstrated expertise in database management.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, data migration, and API connections.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven track record in ensuring system security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
