Overview:
We are currently hiring for a Database Administrator to work out of our Aliso Viejo, CA, Murrieta, CA or Columbia, SC office supporting our internal employees who are located at 30+ offices across the US. The Database Administrator is a specialist that will have a focus on managing various Microsoft SQL Server instances and databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong proficiency in SQL querying, writing stored procedures, database management, performance tuning, and ensuring the reliability and security of system. The Database Administrator reports to the Director of Data Architecture and is part of the company’s IT Data and Applications team which focus on supporting strategic business initiatives using custom built solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain the health of various Microsoft SQL Server databases (ERP database being the largest) and accompanying server infrastructure.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for ad hoc and routine data analysis.
- Design, develop, and maintain stored procedures to support data manipulation, validation, and business logic.
- Create and schedule SQL Server Agent jobs to automate routine database maintenance tasks, data imports/exports, and other batch processes.
- Monitor job execution and troubleshoot issues to ensure successful completion and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard ERP data against loss or corruption.
- Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures to validate data integrity and restore capabilities.
- Plan and execute ERP system (Deltek Vantagepoint) application updates/upgrades.
- Collaborate with ERP system administrator and IT to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and system changes.
- Author custom reports via SSRS for Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Assist with other database related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of SQL and experience writing complex queries.
- Strong proficiency in database management and performance tuning.
- Experience setting up and working with on-premise Microsoft SQL Server required.
- Experience working with ERP systems required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven 2+ years as a Database Administrator.
- Experience working with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint a plus.
- Experience in Azure databases a plus.
