Job Summary
Drives transformative growth of key DGIC product categories and customer teams. Support and consult customer teams in transformative development of customer category business plans and category stories. Activates and accelerates company category strategies by providing leadership to drive insights, analytics and category reviews as required for specific customers. Leads product segment yearly and monthly business planning efforts to accelerate DGIC growth.


Primary Responsibilities

Brand Sector/Segment Ownership


  • Drive 4 P strategies for brand segment across all channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups as sales/category expert to drive key brand/segment projects.
  • Represent sales function in key brand specific short and long-term projects.
  • Represent sales function in driving communications and brand strategy with retail sales team.

Customer Category Strategy & Execution


  • Enable field account teams in order to drive key metrics (Net Sales, Trade Spend, Market Share, Forecast Accuracy).
  • Work with respective sales teams to drive key category selling strategies, tactics, and solutions via DGIC data resources.
  • Lead category strategy and approach in JBP, Top to Top, Category Review, and yearly planning meetings at respective accounts/channels.

Requirements and Minimum Education Level

  • BS/BA Preferred

Experience


  • 10+ Years experience in customer facing, sales planning, or category management sales (preferred) roles in CPG industry.
  • Seeking category or sales experience working with key retail accounts.
  • Commercial experience, high developed collaboration and influencing skills, self-starter, results driven, entrepreneurial
  • Experience in retail sales roles a plus
  • Knowledge of customer best practices, market intelligence, category/channel/ shopper trends and shopper Insight into actionable ideas.
  • History in data management (IRI, Nielsen, other data sources) and insight building. Proven ability to develop sound insights, strategies, and actions across multiple data points.
