EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Science or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Four years of related experience in a law enforcement agency or in a position with analytical and practical skills and knowledge with business intelligence systems/databases are required.
A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Science or a closely related field may be substituted for the education requirement and two years of the experience requirement.
Two years of related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None
Preference will be given to applicants with previous criminal intelligence analytical experience.
Preference will be give to applicants who have experience researching and analyzing crime patterns involving firearms with the purpose of producing useful intelligence that will assist Houston area law enforcement with solving violent crimes and disrupting the shooting cycle.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in “collecting and analyzing data to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data, along with processing, designing, and presenting it in ways to help the organization make informed decisions.”
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in “data management, statistical visualization, and SQL are highly desired.”
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
