Job Purpose

The Construction Warehouse/Inventory Manager supervises the receipts, dispatching, and storage of merchandise in our warehouse. The Construction Warehouse/Inventory Manager will oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administrative functions. The warehouse manager oversees, trains, evaluates and rewards staff. The Construction Warehouse/Inventory Manager ensures the maintenance of company assets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciles with data storage systems.
  • Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Improves staff performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.

Working conditions

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of warehouse management experience.
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
  • Valid drivers' license.
  • Ability to operate forklift effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Available to work extended hours.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am through 3:30 pm, 40 hours per week or as required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
