ROLE DESCRIPTION

Battery (BESS) Division of CES provides a full suite of services to BESS customers, from EPC Advisory / Construction management, & Commissioning, to OEM (preventive, corrective, and predictive), Repowers, Augmentation, and Remote Operations and Control services. We employ highly skilled technicians and deploy the necessary equipment, enabling us to deliver turnkey solutions to our valued customers.

CES is seeking an experienced and motivated field-based Construction Manager for our BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Projects in North America. The Construction Manager will work hand-in-hand with CES Leadership, clients, subcontractors, and other support staff.

Start Date: May 2024

Location: This position will be located at a specific project site locations TBD throughout the US current project locations are ID, IN, TX, AZ, NM, and MD where the candidate will report directly to the site Project Manager and VP of Storage Services.

Qualifications

  • Applicant MUST possess Texas Electrical Journeyman License or 5-10 years industry experience.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
  • Experience in civil functions such as earthwork, concrete, & crane work is highly valued
  • Detail-oriented and strong follow-up skills
  • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering exceptional client service
  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, MS Project
  • Desire to grow with our company and advance to a senior project manager position
  • Expertise in industrial construction, including civil & electrical design, installation, and operation required.
  • BESS Facility & Substation Construction experience required
  • Oversee construction and the overall QA/QC plan to ensure implementation and adherence, with focus on minimizing non-conformance. Coordinate with quality inspections with all the site sub-contractors and vendors
  • Ability to analyze, think critically and problem solve. Additionally, if construction/quality flaws are discovered, must be able to pose solutions to those flaws.
  • Coordinate with the customers representative on all quality matters
  • Verify that site activities are following the applicable engineered drawings, safety, and building codes and standards
  • Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports.
  • Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards.
  • OSHA 10 Certified
  • NFPA70E Certified
  • Applicant must be familiar with a variety of the electrical field concepts, practices, best practice, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems where applicable
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical applications, permits, electrical maintenance goals, Facility Maintenance Application & PM standards
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer

Responsibilities

  • As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing, and managing on-site activities for construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards
  • Ensure projects follow client & company construction policies and standards. Recommend policy changes as needed.
  • Maintain high quality service delivery in an efficient, productive, and profitable manner
  • Assist with job walks and maintain customer base.
  • Oversee the construction and the overall site QA/QC to ensure implementation and adherence, with focus on minimizing non-conformance
  • Track and report to leadership via daily End of Day reports, on main project goals - Schedule, Safety, Quality, responsible Community interaction, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination of schedule, onsite activities, and scope between EPC contractor, Owner- procured suppliers, the Project Manager & other key project stakeholders.
  • Ensure site safety program and adherence to all applicable OSHA standards
  • Provide written weekly reports for internal and external reporting
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure construction projects meet industry standards and client specifications
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and guidelines
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with project manager
