Position Purpose

The Helicopter Component Repair and Overhaul Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and overhauling helicopter components and parts at a FAA 145 certified repair station. This position reports directly to the Airframe Services Program Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Disassembles, cleans, inspects, repairs and overhauls a wide variety of light and medium helicopter components and parts.
  • Insects aircraft to identify defects or discrepancies and determines appropriate repair procedures in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals and FAA regulations.
  • Overhauls major components such as engines, transmissions, and rotor systems.
  • Conducts functional checks and bench tests as required by OEM.
  • Maintains detailed records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and overhauls. Document work performed, parts used, and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensures all work is performed in accordance with the OEM, Repair Station and pertinent FAA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • A&P Certificate under 14 CFR § 65.81, 65.85, 65.87, or 65.103.
  • Possesses at least 36 months of aircraft component repair and overhaul experience.
  • Thorough understanding of helicopter systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Clean & valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA regulated drug test prior to start.
  • Post-employment will be enrolled in our Safety Sensitive Drug and Alcohol Program.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding and experience within a Part 145 repair station
  • Model types preferred: Airbus EC120, AS350, (H125), EC130 (H130), EC135 (H135), BK117 (H145), Bell 429, 430, 407, 206, Leonardo 109, MD 500 series, Robinson R22, R44, R66.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The work environment is often not temperature/humidity controlled. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time, non-exempt. Hours may vary. Opportunity for overtime.

Travel

This position may require occasional travel. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

Pay: $27.00 - $43.00 per hour
