CNG/NGL Transport Driver Position

Base Salary: $30.00 to $34.00/hr ($110,000 to $159,000.00/yr)

Location: Williston, ND

Job Description:

  • Upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period this is a full-time permanent position
  • Drivers must be self-sufficient as it will be required to work independently
  • Drivers report to the Transportation manager via Shift Supervisor
  • A set shift rotation will be required as well as on call during shift rotation.
  • Some overtime may be required as business needs require
  • Drivers must be willing to travel and be available to spend extended time away from home base area as needed
  • Extensive job and skills training is provided along with continuous education to assist with job performance and advancement

Job Duties:

  • Represent Valence in a professional manner at all times as well as providing exceptional customer service while performing all assigned tasks
  • Interact with customer representatives during, delivery of CNG trailers
  • Operate Valence vehicles in a safe manner while delivering and transferring CNG to various customer locations and Valence facilities
  • Perform troubleshooting of technical issues with Valence transportation equipment to ensure equipment operates at the highest possible performance capabilities
  • Perform required daily/weekly/monthly checks of transportation equipment to ensure equipment is in the proper operating condition and ensure safe efficient operation
  • Perform duties at shop location(s) to properly maintain and repair Valence transportation equipment
  • Utilize available technology for load dispatching, vehicle inspections, work hour tracking, training, daily reports, work order requests, safety hazard identification, etc.
  • Utilize proper operating and safety procedures for all activities by operating within the Valence Safety Program and recognizing safety hazards and identifying safety hazards through Valence’s Velocity software.
  • Work to meet goals and performance measurement metrics that have been set by Valence to ensure Valence operations are at peak performance

Skills Required:

  • Valid Class A CDL driver’s license with HazMat and tanker endorsement required
  • 2 years verifieable winter driving experience in the Bakken or other northern states
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to utilize various software platforms as well as: o Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of basic hand tool operation

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily transportation oriented along with shop time for specific maintenance tasks, with specific office duties for training, meetings, documentation of required tasks as required by customers, the US Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Valence must comply
  • Must be willing to work up to 12 hour rotating shifts as required to support the operation of Valence field operations
  • Must be willing to respond to emergencies that may require working shifts longer than 12 hours for several consecutive days
  • Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening test as well as random drug screenings during employment
  • Include but are not limited to: o Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying ( up to 50 of pounds), o Grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds) o Pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders o Visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print) o Hearing requirement, must be able to hear audible alarms and communication from others working in the area

Education/Experience:

  • Candidate must at least have a high school diploma or GED
  • 2-year Natural Gas/Oil Field experience is preferred
  • Any additional vocational training and/or work experience is a plus
