Clerk I, Range 6, Annual Starting Salary: $27,851

Open until filled.

The City of Deming is seeking qualified applicants for a regular, full time Clerk I position to be

located at the City of Deming Police Department.

Requirements of the Position: The primary responsibility of the selected employee will be to

assist the Police department in a wide variety of clerical and customer service duties as assigned.

Individuals offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test

and background check.

Applicant shall possess:

  • Valid State of NM Drivers License and good driving record.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge to satisfactorily perform a variety of duties that include spelling, mathematical
and technical accuracy; files maintenance and record keeping; simple reports, typing, daily

use of standard office machinery, computers, and software; excellent customer service.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow specific written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow Departmental and City policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to get along well with co-workers.
  • Ability to work and deal with people in a tactful and courteous manner.
