The role of Chemical Quality Control and Inventory Specialist involves leading our quality control efforts
and providing essential support to our inventory, production, and sales teams. We are in search of a
candidate who is well-versed in the nuances of inorganic chemical handling and packaging. The right
individual will be highly organized, possess excellent communication and technical writing skills, and has
the initiative to deliver results independently. The candidate must have the ability to manage daily
responsibilities while strategically working towards the long-term objectives. This role is dynamic and
requires a flexible approach to collaborate effectively with various departments within LTS and to
navigate the evolving challenges that arise. The successful candidate will also engage in the acquisition
and mastery of sophisticated quality control methodologies, including but not limited to Scanning
Electron Microscopy (SEM) with Energy-Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Particle Size Distribution Analysis
(PSD), X-ray Diffractometry (XRD), and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
Responsibilities
- Performing Quality Control inspections and analyses, and creating inspection reports for raw
materials, in-process, and finished products
- Generating internal product quality documentation to assist accounting, procurement,
- production, and sales departments
- Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy-Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEM/EDS) analysis
- Particle Size Distribution Analysis (PSD) analysis
- X-ray Diffractometry (XRD) analysis
- Participating in receiving operations and inventory management, including the following:
- Matching incoming documentation with quality control inspection information
- Updating enterprise resource planning system and QuickBooks Enterprise with quality control and inventory information
- Assisting in Inventory Management
- Occasional packaging of hazardous materials for storage and sale
- Must be willing to work with potent/hazardous materials requiring the use of proper supplied PPE
- Comply with and support all EH&S activities while operating in a safe, honest, and ethical
manner.
- Participating in internal audits for Quality Assurance activities
- Participate in investigating, installing, and implementing new quality control procedures and techniques including compliance and quality assurance aspects
- Communicating with production, vendors, and customers regarding product quality
- Writing, revising, and following SOPs to perform various job processes.
- Assist in the creation, editing, and upkeep of Safety Data Sheets
- The Chemical Quality Control and Inventory Specialist, like all positions at LTS Research

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry);
Master's degree preferred
- 1-2 years working in industry or related commercial environment
- Previous experience working with hazardous/potent chemicals
- Excellent technical writing skills and oral communication
- Strong computer base skills - MS Office
- Ability to learn and understand policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Self-starter oriented personality
- Physical requirements: Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be
able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds unassisted
