Job Overview:
All Pro All Services (APAS) is currently seeking a skilled CDL Motor Vehicle Operator to serve as the On-Site Point of Contact to oversee a team of approximately 30 CDL Drivers. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safe and punctual transportation of students in support of the District of Columbia School Connect (DCSC) program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Team Lead shall be responsible for managing predetermined District of Columbia School Bus Routes from Monday to Friday, operating between the hours of 6:00 am to 6:30pm. Most days,working hours are from 6:00am - 10:00am and 2:30pm - 6:30pm. Additional hours may be required based on operational needs. This role entails ensuring that vehicle operators are available to execute various tasks to include:

  • Midday transfers, after-school programs, educational programs, and/or school-related activities
  • Safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for designated driver routes.
  • Submitting Incident forms, Pre-trip and post-trip forms, and vehicle inspection forms (such as and not limited to worn tires, and proper air pressure in tires)
  • Conduct Routine checks for adequate gasoline or diesel supply, water in the radiator, proper oil level, battery condition, and similar items and check the presence and usability of assigned equipment, such as tools, tire changing equipment, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.
  • Submit trip records or logs showing the time of departure, sequence of stops, time of return, trip mileage, gasoline and oil consumption, and similar items.
  • Report any defects in vehicle operations, accidents, damages, or traffic violations.

  • Assure all vehicles assigned are clean at the end of a shift (morning/afternoon) fluids are at operational levels and remove trash and/or lost items.
  • Drives in all types of traffic and weather conditions and is exposed to the possibility of a serious accident.
  • Work collaboratively with the DCSC
  • Shall be responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and will ensure oversight and escorting of the students.
  • Only transport DCSC-authorized students or DCSC staff and under no circumstance should a vehicle transport anyone who is not a DCSC-authorized student during the service hours; and
  • Maintain an emergency evacuation plan for the vehicle and be prepared to evacuate the vehicle effectively and efficiently in an emergency.
  • Maintain trip and business records.

In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the ideal candidate should possess the following critical skills:

  • The capability to serve as a substitute/replacement driver during emergencies.
  • Attendance at weekly staff meetings with the government team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and email communications.
  • Strong Organizational Skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergo a Criminal Background check to comply with state and federal laws applicable to the requirements of DCSC
  • CDL Supervisor must have a clean driver record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to include: Zero (0) driving suspensions or revocations; Zero (0) incidents of serious motor vehicle violation, including, but not limited, to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; reckless driving; leaving the scene of an accident, or a series of convictions that reflect a pattern of unsafe behavior.
  • Have at least four (2) years of experience driving a motor vehicle.
  • Pass a Suitability Screening, including Child Protection Registry and Sex Offender Registry Screening
  • Submit to a Drug and Alcohol test/screening.
  • Agree to an on-going and random drug/alcohol testing.
  • Must have a Negative TB test.
  • Provide verification of fully vaccinated status with a COVID 19 Vaccine
  • Provide a copy of Current Drivers’ Licenses (CDL) with School Bus (S) & Passenger (P) endorsements appropriate for each vehicle operator for driving the transport assignment allowable vehicle.
  • Possess or obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Possess and maintain a valid Department of Transportation Medical Card
  • Demonstrate the skill and knowledge in driving a passenger vehicle, shuttle and/or school bus.
  • Be an experienced motor vehicle operator.

Job Types: Full-time Contract

Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour

  • Valid CDL with School Bus (S) & Passenger (P) endorsements.
