We are seeking a passionate and experienced Benefits Specialist. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with others as a critical partner to bring together our global benefits offerings aligned with initiatives to support the business. Reporting directly to the VP of People Operations and Total Rewards the Benefits Specialist primary responsibility is to provide best-in-class support to employees and provide excellent data integrity within systems.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration, including:
  • Administer all employee benefit programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely enrollment, changes, and terminations in benefits plans.
  • Maintain and update benefits records and databases.
  • Plan and execute the annual benefits open enrollment process as well as the new hire benefits orientation
  • Compliance and Regulations, including:
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to benefits, including HIPAA, ERISA, and ACA.
  • Ensure compliance in administration of leave programs, including FMLA, disability, and other leave policies
  • Employee education and communication
  • Be the front line for all employee questions regarding benefits with a quick turnaround time and accurate information to full resolution
  • Conduct orientations and educational sessions to help employees understand their benefit options.
  • Communicate changes, deadlines and options to employees on benefit offerings through distribution of benefits materials such as brochures, newsletters and emails.
  • Auditing, including:
  • Continuously audit benefits between vendors and HRIS each month to ensure there are no errors
  • Vendor Management, including:
  • Manage relationships with benefit providers, including insurance carriers, retirement plan administrators, and wellness program vendors.

Skills / Abilities:

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understand and keep up with benefits-related laws and regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Find solutions to complex benefits-related issues.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to employees, resolving inquiries promptly.
  • Data Management: Proficiently handle benefits data and use relevant software. Strong microsoft excel or google sheets knowledge including v-lookups, pivot tables, and formulas
  • Adaptability: Be flexible in response to changing benefit programs and organizational needs.

Education / Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in benefits administration, HR experience or benefits-related roles is required.
  • UKG experience is highly preferred.
